My Brigid's crosses are made to order with green willow...I'll go out into the willow grove and harvest the sticks to make one especially for you :)
Brigid's Crosses are usually made at Imbolc (Feb 1.) and hung in a home (or the rafters of a barn) to bring the Goddess/Saint Brigid's blessings into the home (or animal dwelling) and to protect against evil, fire and sickness.
A note about green willow: It does shrink, so the cross will loosen up as it dries. If you want you can push the sticks that form the square closer together as it dries, but it's not necessary.
