frequently asked questions

  • Why have a micro wedding? Micro weddings are the answer to the stressful, expensive, overwhelming modern world of wedding planning. Brigid Spring micro weddings can have up to ten guests, with a focus on connecting with each other and nature.
  • What if we want to elope? For budget-conscious couples who want to declare their love and commitment without the hassle and stress typically involved in planning nuptials, our no-frills ceremony and one-night elopement packages are both highly affordable. (Cannabis, spring water and firewood are complimentary.)
  • Why are Brigid Spring's micro weddings limited to the couple, plus 24 guests? Brigid Spring's micro weddings are intimate ceremonies connecting to the natural world and located in special places like the flower garden, ganja grove or goat pasture. Due to the sensitivity of our environs, we've intentionally limited human usage to an amount that feels appropriate for the land. Also, the limitation on the guest list is a good excuse to explain to friends and family why they're not invited, haha.
  • Where is Brigid Spring? About 40 minutes due north of Lewiston/Auburn or 1 hour and 20 minutes from Portland, among the trees, near a lake, at the base of a couple mountains.
  • What about documenting our tiny wedding? To keep it simple, you can take stills from strategically placed cameras documenting the ceremony. Or Brigid Spring also welcomes outside photographers who are mindful of our sensitive setting.
  • What do you mean the cannabis, firewood and spring water are complimentary? Thanks to Maine law, Brigid Spring is allowed to gift spring water, seasoned firewood and organic cannabis to our guests during their stay on the land. Under Maine's adult use cannabis law, we're also able to invite you into our personal ganja grove, which is one of the locations we offer for your nuptials. (21+ only.)
  • Are pets allowed? Unfortunately, pets are not allowed. Our goats, pigs and chickens are sensitive to outside canicular visitors. Also, our cat and farm dog are quite territorial and cute! Besides, who knows how your pooch would react to the occasional midnight hooting of owls and howling of packs coyotes on nearby ridges and peaks? Plus, skunks...We've found it's in everyone's best interest that dogs stay home.
  • Is tobacco use allowed? The wedding couple has the option to ban tobacco use entirely, or upon request, a smoking area can be set up downwind from the festivities.
  • Do you offer honeymoon packages? If the calendar allows, we're happy to extend the couples' stay, and offer a discounted nightly rate as a wedding gift.
  • How much does it cost to get married at Brigid Spring? A basic elopement ceremony with up to two guests, includes your officiant and live music, and is $900. A micro wedding ranges between $2,500 and $4,500, depending on the number of guests and whether it's a ceremony only or ceremony plus bring-your-own BBQ or picnic reception. Lodging is included for the betrothed. Fill out the form below to get started.
  • Who marries us and provides music for the ceremony? Brigid Spring's husband and wife team have been married for 22 years. Your officiant is an author,  journalist, pig-tender and notary public. Brigid Spring's resident songstress, artist, herbalist and green thumb will help plan all the details of your special day and provide live music for the ceremony if you like.
  • How do we set a date? Start by filling out the simple form below. We'll get back to you shortly to begin planning your Brigid Spring elopement or micro wedding.

    Let's start a conversation.
